She is both a member and a leader within several pertinent organizations, including the University of Michigan Club of Delaware, the Women's Republican Club of Wilmington, and the Junior League of Wilmington.
Regarding civic affairs, Ms. Waisanen contributed her time and resources for many years to the Delaware State Coastal Zone Industrial Control Board, for which she served as chairwoman. In the course of her professional journey, she has earned numerous distinctions and accolades, most prominent being an award presented to her by the King of Sweden in 1988.
