A nationally recognized criminal defense attorney, Mr. Wing is a partner with the Lankler Siffert & Wohl LLP, where he specializes in criminal defense cases involving allegations of mail and wire fraud, bribery, antitrust, tax, labor and RICO violations. Previously, he was Chief of the securities and business fraud unit in the United States Attorney's Office for the Southern district of New York. During his career, Mr. Wing has been featured in the "Group's Guide to the World's Leading White Collar Crime Lawyers" by Chambers USA, in a cover article fo 7 Days-New York titled "Courtroom Killers: The Lawyers Other Lawyers Most Admire, Fear and Talk About." A member of the New York State Bar, Mr. Wing earned a Bachelor of Arts from Yale University in 1960 and a Juris Doctor from the University of Chicago Law School in 1963. He has been admitted to practice before the United States Court of Appeals for the Second, Seventh, Ninth and Federal Circuits, the United States District Courts for the Southern and Eastern Districts of New York and the United States Court of International Trade. Mr. Wing is a member of the New York Council of Defense Lawyers, and served as its director and president for several years. He is a member of the American College of Trial Lawyers, the American Bar Association and the Federal Bar Council.
Mr. Wing has received numerous accolades for his outstanding achievements. In addition to being recognized as a fellow of the American College of Trial Lawyers, he has been listed as one of the best Lawyers in America for the past 30 years. In 2004, Mr. Wing was presented with the Norman Ostrow Award for Excellence in Criminal Defense.
Mr. Wing entered the field of law after reading the autobiography of Clarence Darrow, a legendary criminal defense lawyer, whose performance during a number of great historical trials including Scopes "monkey" Trial of 1925 impressed him so thoroughly that he decided to pursue a career in the criminal justice area. He attributes his success at trial to a diligent worth ethic, believing that the more one invests in trial preparation, the more likely one is to be effective in the courtroom. Mr. Wing is the proud father of four children, and has welcomed two grandsons into his immediate family.
