Mr. Walker excelled as an academy counselor and an adjunct faculty member at Antioch University

Mr. Walker embarked on his 40-year professional journey in educational behavioral support by pursuing a Bachelor of Arts from Mansfield University in 1977. He became interested in child psychology and rehabilitation as he watched his nieces and nephews grow older, and was consistently interested in developing new ways to support them. He came closer to his goal in 1983, graduating with a Master of Education from Pennsylvania State University. Mr. Walker completed postgraudate coursework at Gwynedd Mercy College in 1997, whereupon he became licensed as a K-12 guidance counselor.
From 1977 to 1980, Mr. Walker was a counselor and a teacher at the Kids School of Newark, New Jersey. In 1980, he found success as an adolescent counselor at the Northern Home for Children, Philadelphia, and a career counselor at the Pennsylvania Council of Volunteer Childcare Agencies, at which he would work through 1982. Following this appointment. Mr. Walker accepted the position of a rehabilitation psychologist at Moss Rehabilitation Center, Philadelphia, in 1983, which he maintained through 1998.
Mr. Walker excelled as an academy counselor and an adjunct faculty member at Antioch University from 1987 to 1989. During these time, he likewise held the post of a behavioral management consultant for Hall Mercer Community Mental Health and the Mental Retardation Center of Philadelphia. In 1998, Mr. Walker became a school counselor for the Upper Dublin School District. He served in this capacity until 2000, whereupon he contributed as a guidance counselor at Cheltenham High School, with which he remained until 2017.
Mr. Walker is proud of his work assisting students with both intellectual and physical disabilities develop the skills to become successful adults. He has contributed to research in his field, having been a participant and a facilitator with the Temple University Department of Psychoeducational Processes, including work on a 1989 pilot project. In order to remain aware of developments in the field, Mr. Walker affiliates as a member of the American Counseling Association and the American Rehabilitation Counseling Association.
