Playing the violin since the age of five, Mr. Goro graduated from the Music School on Violin in Kiev before switching to the clarinet
SANTA CLARITA, CA, July 26, 2019 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Marquis Who's Who, the world's premier publisher of biographical profiles, is proud to present Zinovy Goro, MFA, with the Albert Nelson Marquis Lifetime Achievement Award. An accomplished listee, Mr. Goro celebrates many years' experience in his professional network, and has been noted for achievements, leadership qualities, and the credentials and successes he has accrued in his field. As in all Marquis Who's Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. Factors such as position, noteworthy accomplishments, visibility, and prominence in a field are all taken into account during the selection process.
Mr. Goro is a recognized musician, arranger and composer of more than five decades and the longtime founder and music director of the award-winning Golden State Klezmers since 1980. Formerly with Universal Studios Music Library in Los Angeles, where he spent more than 23 years until 2016, prior to making his way to the United States, Mr. Goro was a Principal Clarinet for the State-Honored Radio and TV Orchestra in his home town of Kiev, Ukraine.
Playing the violin since the age of five, Mr. Goro graduated from the Music School on Violin in Kiev before switching to the clarinet. Going on to continue his studies at the Petro Tchaikovsky National Academy of Music in Kiev (formerly P.I. Tchaikovsky's State Conservatory), where he earned a Master of Fine Arts in performing and composition in 1970. Mr. Goro furthered his training in the United States as a recording engineer with the Trebas Institute of Recording Arts in Hollywood, California, in 1991.
Mr. Goro continues to remain active in his field. He recently performed with his orchestra on April 7, 2019 at a gala at the American Jewish University in celebration of 25 years with the Los Angeles Jewish Symphony. A founding member of the symphony since 1994, the Los Angeles Jewish Symphony notably presented the world premiere of his "Tribute to Mickey Katz" in 2016 at the Ford Theatres with him as Principal Clarinetist. Throughout his career, he has made numerous concert appearances with the Musicians Union of Los Angeles and has worked on numerous film and television soundtracks (Warner Bros., Disney, Columbia, Paramount). With the Los Angeles Chamber Orchestra he was working as an arranger and orchestrator. Mr. Goro has also been responsible for composing award-winning scores for eight full-length documentary films.
Recognized for excellence throughout his career, Mr. Goro received an Award for Best Original Music from the Blue Sphere Alliance for "Kabbalah" at the LEX Theater in Los Angeles in 1999. Additionally, he has previously been featured in Who's Who in Entertainment. Having accomplished much over the years, he considers founding the Golden State Klezmers to be the true high point of his career. With klezmer music being categorically forbidden in the USSR and the Ukraine when he lived there, Mr. Goro was very happy to come to the United States and discover that not only was it allowed, it was quite popular as well.
In recognition of outstanding contributions to his profession and the Marquis Who's Who community, Mr. Goro has been featured on the Albert Nelson Marquis Lifetime Achievement website. Please visit www.ltachievers.com for more information about this honor.
