HACKENSACK, NJ, August 12, 2019 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Marquis Who's Who, the world's premier publisher of biographical profiles, is proud to present Lawrence N. Finch with the Albert Nelson Marquis Lifetime Achievement Award. An accomplished listee, Mr. Finch celebrates many years' experience in his professional network, and has been noted for achievements, leadership qualities, and the credentials and successes he has accrued in his field. As in all Marquis Who's Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. Factors such as position, noteworthy accomplishments, visibility, and prominence in a field are all taken into account during the selection process.
As the son of an engineer, Mr. Finch grew up with an affinity for dismantling and rebuilding objects. While in high school, a physics teacher helped him develop his analytical and problem-solving skills. These factors, combined with his curiosity, led him to earn a bachelor's degree in electrical engineering from New York University before becoming an engineer for Airborne Instruments Laboratory. In that role for four years, he worked on several projects, the last of which was an all-electronic landing guidance system for aircraft carriers that is still in use in today. At AIL, he also developed strong professional relationships, one of which he maintained with a former colleague long after his departure from the company.
He later went on to serve as an engineer for the Republic Electronic Industries Corporation, a member of the technical staff of Schering Pharmaceutical, and a regional analyst manager of the computer division for Texas Instruments. It was during this time that he earned a master's degree in computer science from the Stevens Institute of Technology. From 1980 to 2013, he served as vice president and technical director for Prolifics, a global provider of digital technology solutions. Since 2014, he has been an independent IT consultant, utilizing his industry experience and background to provide companies with insight regarding their technology needs.
A lifetime member of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers, Mr. Finch is also associated with the American Association for the Advancement of Science and Mensa International. He received a research grant from the National Science Foundation in 1965 and holds a patent for a fixed compound lens scanning microwave antenna with moveable feed. Outside of his career, Mr. Finch is a volunteer tour guide for the American Museum of Natural History and a docent for the Intrepid Sea, Air and Space Museum.
In recognition of outstanding contributions to his profession and the Marquis Who's Who community, Lawrence N. Finch has been featured on the Albert Nelson Marquis Lifetime Achievement website. Please visit www.ltachievers.com for more information about this honor.
