In his daily responsibilities, he develops and maintains advanced computational electromagnetic solvers, and conducts research on advances in EDA packages related to numerical electromagnetics. A hard-working industry professional, Dr. Sharma gained valuable expertise in the field as a senior quality engineer with The Mathworks, Inc. Between Aug. 2018 and May 2019, he supported the development and assured the quality of electromagnetic toolboxes for MATLAB product releases. Prior to this, he served as a postdoctoral research scholar with Pennsylvania State University, a signal integrity research and development engineer for Amphenol FCI USA and worked in electronics and radar development establishment for the Defense Research and Development Organization of India. Throughout Dr. Sharma's professional journey, he has honed his knowledge in a number of technical fields and programming languages such as C++, Python, Cadence Allegro, Keysight ADS, and FastHenry.
In 2008, Dr. Sharma earned a Bachelor of Engineering in electronics and communication engineering from the University of Delhi. He subsequently attended Pennsylvania State University and obtained a Master of Science in 2013, and a Doctor of Philosophy in 2017. Dr. Sharma continues to network with industry scholars through his affiliations with the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers and the Applied Computational Electromagnetics Society, with which he serves as a reviewer. Due to his outstanding accomplishments, Dr. Sharma has received numerous accolades. In addition to earning a graduate scholarship through Pennsylvania State University in 2012 and 2014, he was recognized with a fellowship from Texas Tech University.
