Mr. Lang is a retired oil company executive and structural civil engineer of 35 years who worked for ExxonMobil affiliates in the U.S. and abroad. Hired by Mobil Oil Exploration & Producing Southeast, Inc., in New Orleans as a civil engineer in 1977, he also worked for Mobil Research and Development Corporation and Mobil Oil Exploration & Producing U.S., Inc., as a structural engineer, civil engineering supervisor, senior marine civil engineering advisor in Morgan City and New Orleans. He then worked in several managerial capacities with the Exxon Mobil Development and Production Companies and its affiliates in Dallas, Houston, Nigeria, Russia and Equatorial Guinea before concluding his career as a construction manager with Esso Exploration & Production Chad, Inc., in Kome, Chad, in the southern part of Chad, a country in North Central Africa, between 2008 and 2012.
Throughout his career, Mr. Lang's scholarly efforts have included the contribution of several papers surrounding his research to the Offshore Technology Conference held annually in Houston. He was the sole or lead author of, "Predicting the Drivability of Large Diameter Offshore Piling", "Structural Design, Fabrication and Installation of Offshore Conductor Pipe" and "Analysis, Prediction and Repair of Vertical Wave Fatigue Damage of Conductor Guide Bracing."
An alumnus of the University of Tennessee, Mr. Lang received a Bachelor of Science in civil engineering in 1975 and a Master of Engineering (structural engineering) in 1976. He later acquired a Master of Business Administration from Tulane University in 1989. He is currently enrolled in the University of Washington School of Law in St. Louis. He is a registered professional engineer in the states of Texas and Louisiana.
A fellow of the American Society of Civil Engineers, Mr. Lang has also been active with several honor societies. His avocational interests include genealogical research and he holds memberships with the Sons of the American Revolution, the Sons of Union Veterans of the Civil War and the Sons of Confederate Veterans.
Invested in his community, Mr. Lang has served Boy Scout Troop 471 in Tomball, Texas in various committee positions since 2012, including advancement coordinator since 2017. He formerly served as an advisor for Junior Achievement USA in New Orleans. A celebrated Marquis listee, Mr. Lang has been showcased in the third edition of Who's Who of Emerging Leaders in America and the 21st edition of Who's Who in the South and Southwest.
