Prior to her current roles, she worked as an associate with Bell Seltzer Park and Gibson from 1995 to 1997. Earlier in her career, she found success with General Electric (GE Aviation and GE Medical Systems) for eight years. A respected voice in the areas of patent law, she has written for the North Carolina Journal of Law and Technology, IP Today, and IP Links. Moreover, Ms. Richardson is a co-creator of Project Together, which helps indigent clients with domestic violence cases. She was presented with the Business Leader Media Pro Bono Impact Award for this program in 2008.
Ms. Richardson initially pursued an education with Purdue University, where she obtained a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering in 1981. She later concluded her studies at Duke University School of Law, earning a Doctor of Jurisprudence, with honors, in 1995. She has been admitted to practice law in the state of North Carolina and is a registered patent lawyer with the United States Patent and Trademark Office. Furthermore, Ms. Richardson was previously active as the chair of the Intellectual Property Section of the North Carolina Bar Association.
Throughout her career, Ms. Richardson has been celebrated for her contributions to the field.
