Enjoying so many wonderful moments in her career, Nancy Marshall Bauer considers herself fortunate to have been able to collaborate with so many great minds in a field they were pioneering together.
MADISON, WI, September 06, 2019 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Marquis Who's Who, the world's premier publisher of biographical profiles, is proud to present Nancy Marshall Bauer with the Albert Nelson Marquis Lifetime Achievement Award. An accomplished listee, Ms. Bauer celebrates many years' experience in her professional network, and has been noted for achievements, leadership qualities, and the credentials and successes she has accrued in her field. As in all Marquis Who's Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. Factors such as position, noteworthy accomplishments, visibility, and prominence in a field are all taken into account during the selection process.
Now a retired television and radio network executive, Ms. Bauer celebrates nearly two decades in the field. Landing the role of director of educative services for the Wisconsin Educational Television and Radio Networks in Madison in 1972, she served in that capacity until retirement in 1989. She simultaneously served on the board of Central Educational Network between 1973 and 1980 and served one year on the executive committee of PBS (Public Broadcasting Service) between 1973 and 1974.
Entering the field by chance, Mr. Bauer was originally an elementary school teacher in Madison, Wisconsin, and an assistant professor and specialist in educational communications at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. While teaching, she was assigned to instruct students on experimental radio mathematics. Becoming very intrigued by the subject, she decided to visit the local radio and television station on her days off to better understand the field. In the right place at the right time, she learned that the woman in charge of the education service of the stations was retiring. Ms. Bauer was hired soon after and she never looked back.

Meanwhile, her contributions to the Wisconsin History series notably won the Gavel Award from the American Bar Association. Since retiring, she published a family history, as well as articles in several historical and genealogical magazines.

She also served on numerous committees, including the Public Broadcasting Systems service committee, the National Public Radio instructional radio advisory committee and the Instructional TV Cooperative executive committee.
