LAS CRUCES, NM, September 26, 2019 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Marquis Who's Who, the world's premier publisher of biographical profiles, is proud to present Pat Hanner with the Albert Nelson Marquis Lifetime Achievement Award. An accomplished listee, Ms. Hanner celebrates many years' experience in her professional network, and has been noted for achievements, leadership qualities, and the credentials and successes she has accrued in her field. Ms. Hanner did thousands of paintings and drawings. She gave away her art to friends and acquaintances. She started out with charcoal drawings after Walt Disney sent her a personal letter at age 13 asking her to come and work for him when she grew up. She graduated to chalk and then to acrylics and finally to oils. She had 8 lithographs printed in the 1970s. They are very valuable and have been in storage all these years. She did portraits of children of her staff, drawings and paintings of animals and birds, and large wall murals for churches, head start programs, daycare centers and institutions and state hospitals. She did a three year wall mural project at Lanterman State Hospital with the help of the California Conservation Corps and Mt. San Antonio art students whom she recruited. They painted 40 10,000 square foot buildings with graphics and wall murals which Pat designed all while working full time as a nurse. These made the institution's walls and halls more pleasant for the residents housed there. She was inspired and motivated by Wyland who painted large seascapes. She is a very gifted and blessed artist who works to share her God-given talent.
Ms. Hanner was a nurse with more than 25 years of accomplishment in the field. Following in her mother's footsteps, she completed an Associate of Science in nursing from Chaffey College in Alta Loma, California, in 1978. Ms. Hanner earned her Bachelor of Arts in public administration from California Polytechnic Institute in Pomona in 1982.
From 1964 to 2003, Ms. Hanner enjoyed a long career as Director of Psychiatric Nursing Education for the Lanterman Developmental Center in Pomona, California. She was also the owner of the Pat Hanner Art Gallery in Ontario, California, from 1964 to 2010. Ms. Hanner currently serves on the board of directors of Pacific Federal Credit Union in Pomona. Ms. Hanner had also served on the Board of Directors of the Here We Grow Child Care Center in Pomona, California.
