With years of experience to her credit, Jennifer L. Mallard has excelled as a high school biology teacher and a varsity volleyball coach at Winter Springs High School since 2016. During this time, she worked as one of the head coaches for the Orlando Tampa Volleyball Academy as well. Previously, she served as a high school science teacher at South Brunswick Public School from 2013 to 2016 and a head coach for the Cape Fear Volleyball Club from 2012 to 2015. Ms. Mallard began her career as an academic advisor and an assistant for athletics at the University of North Carolina at Wilmington in 2012.
Before embarking on her professional path, Ms. Mallard pursued an education at the University of North Carolina at Wilmington, earning a Bachelor of Education in Science and English with a minor in psychology in 2012. She concluded her studies at the aforementioned university in 2013, graduating with a master's degree in administration and curriculum design. Throughout her academic efforts, Ms. Mallard was greatly influenced by her teacher, Mr. Craig, who was incredibly creative and hands-on, and her high school chemistry teacher, Ms. Farrell.
Beyond her responsibilities within the field, Ms. Mallard has participated in numerous endeavors outside of her professional circles. Alongside her present posts, she has contributed to Winter Springs High School as the biology chair lead. Active as a host for a number of sports camps and clinics, she has also found success with her volunteer efforts through the Boys & Girls Clubs of America. Subscribing to the philosophy that individual glory is insignificant compared to the victory as a team by Dot Richardson, Ms. Mallard further lives by the motto, "Enjoy life and live each day as if it is your last."
In light of her exceptional undertakings, Ms. Mallard has accrued several accolades throughout her impressive career. In 2016, she was recognized as the Rookie of the Year by Winter Springs High School. Subsequently, Ms. Mallard was selected as the Teacher of the Year by Winter Springs High School in 2019. Attributing her success to the influence of her mother, who was a nurturing, encouraging, and passionate woman who was both a nurse and a teacher, Ms. Mallard is currently considering teaching sports and science at the college level or possibly returning to academia to obtain her Doctor of Educational Leadership in the years to come.
