Soon thereafter, he secured a Doctor of Jurisprudence from the University of Texas in 1958. Furthermore, Mr. Davis was admitted to practice law in the state of Texas and all United States District Courts in the state of Texas, the Supreme Court of Texas, and the Supreme Court of the United States.
Civically, Mr. Davis has been a past member and chairman of the University of North Texas Board of Regents and for the Health Science System, from 1967 to 1988. A veteran of the U.S. Army, he served as an allied Courier in Germany, from 1954 until his honorable discharge in 1956. He also found success as an adjunct professor of hospital law at Trinity University in San Antonio, as well as an adjunct professor of Pharmacy Jurisprudence with the University of Texas, from 1969 to 1975. An expert and healthcare and medical malpractice defense, Mr. Davis authored the "Texas Legal and Consent Manual for Texas Hospitals," and has contributed numerous articles to professional journals of medical, hospital and pharmacy publications.
