SEVIERVILLE, TN, October 11, 2019 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Danny W. Koontz has been inducted into Marquis Who's Who. As in all Marquis Who's Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. Factors such as position, noteworthy accomplishments, visibility, and prominence in a field are all taken into account during the selection process.
With more than 40 years of experience to his credit, Danny W. Koontz has excelled in the field of facilities management, having flourished as the director of facilities management for the Collier Restaurant Group in Sevierville since 2016. Prior to this appointment, he worked as the vice president and the director of operations for VMC Facilities Service & Construction in Knoxville, from 2014 to 2015. Previously, Mr. Koontz began his career as the director of facilities management for Ruby Tuesday Inc. in Knoxville from 1978 until 2013.
Before embarking on his professional path, Mr. Koontz pursued an education at East Tennessee University, completing coursework in 1978. Accepting his inaugural position during this time, he continued his studies at the University of Tennessee, Knoxville, where he was enrolled until focusing his efforts toward facility management full-time in 1981. Harboring a passion for helping others, Mr. Koontz transitioned from a warehouse facility position to a purchasing position, for which he had no experience but was drawn toward the challenge and the opportunity to learn new skills.
Beyond his primary responsibilities within the field, Mr. Koontz has participated in numerous endeavors outside of his professional circles. He has been affiliated with the Restaurant Facility Management Association in a number of roles, including as the chairman of the board of directors from 2011 to 2012 and a member of their advisory council since 2012. Between 1988 and 1994, he notably contributed to the board of directors for United Cerebral Palsy of Alabama. No matter what the task, Mr. Koontz remains humble, as he subscribes to the motto, "I'm really just a guy doing a job, trying to do it better than I did the day before."
In light of his exceptional undertakings, Mr. Koontz has accrued several accolades throughout his impressive career. Profiled in Blueprint Magazine in 2018, he has been recognized by Stratford Who's Who Among Business. Renowned by his peers for his reliability, he attributes his success to his superb ability to communicate with others, exchange ideas, and understand that there's always more to learn. Looking toward the future, Mr. Koontz hopes to continue working while ensuring that his son, who is living with special needs, is secure and taken care of when himself and his wife can no longer do so personally.
