In addition to teaching and serving in his administrative role, he conducts extensive research in the areas of postharvest physiology, biotechnology and protected horticulture. The aforementioned university is notably recognized as one of 10 core national universities in Chuncheon, South Korea. Prior to his tenure at Kangwon National University, Dr. Kang worked as an adjunct researcher at the Korea Food Research Institute.
A seasoned researcher, Dr. Kang has conducted extensive studies in post-harvest physiology and biotechnology, as well as protected horticulture. He has contributed his wealth of knowledge to numerous articles published in various scientific journals as a result. He notably authored "Patient: Plant Growing Apparatus with Light Supply and Moving Multi-Stages Systems" in 2015 and co-authored "Protected Horticulture" in 2010. Moreover, Dr. Kang found success as the editor-in-chief for the postharvest section of Horticulture Science and Technology and for the Journal of Bioenvironmental Control.
Dr. Kang initially pursued an education at Korea University, earning a Bachelor of Arts in agriculture. He subsequently graduated from Korea University with a Master of Science in horticulture and a Doctor of Philosophy in horticulture. Dr. Kang concluded his academic efforts with postdoctoral coursework in the department of vegetable crops at the University of California Davis.
To remain aware of developments in his field, Dr. Kang is a member of the Korean Society for Horticulture Science. He is also a member and the former secretary general of the Korean Society for Bio-Environment Control, from which he was presented with a Best Paper Award in 2014. A celebrated Marquis listee, Dr. Kang has been featured in the 33rd edition of Who's Who in the World.
