Dr. De Marco is a dentist with more than 55 years of specialization in Periodontics and Dental Implants. By the age of five, he knew he wanted to become a dentist. In light of this, he attended the University of Pittsburgh, where he earned a Bachelor of Science in 1962 and a Doctor of Dental Medicine in 1965. In 1968, Dr. De Marco completed a Doctor of Philosophy in Pharmacology and a Certificate in Periodontology at Boston University. He became a Certified Financial Planner in 1976.
From 1968 to 1970, Dr. De Marco garnered a laudable reputation as an assistant professor of Periodontics and Pharmacology at Case-Western Reserve University, rising to the position of an associate professor in 1970, and a professor from 1973 until 1984. Further, he became an associate dean of the Case-Western Reserve School of Dentistry between 1972 and 1976, and the dean from 1976 to 1984. Dr. De Marco is proud to have been the youngest dean appointed to any dental program in the country at the time. Since 1968, he has been in private practice specializing in dental implants and periodontics serving the community of Cleveland.
Dr. De Marco is a grantee of the Air Force Office of Scientific Research, the Upjohn Company, and the Columbus Dental Manufacturing Company. He holds a patent for a specialty dental scaling tool called the De Marco curette. Dr. De Marco is a member of the American Academy of Periodontology, the International Association of Dental Research, and is the former president of the Ohio chapter of the American Society for Preventive Dentistry. He has published over 200 scientific articles and published 7 books on various topics related to dentistry. He is a member of Phi Beta Kappa, American College of Dentists and the International College of Dentists.
