A graduate of the University of Oregon, he completed a Bachelor of Arts in 1970 and a Master of Arts in 1972 before earning a Doctor of Philosophy in 1976. Dr. Logsdon became interested in a career in academia after seeing his father-in-law's success and work-life balance throughout his own career as a professor.
Since 1975, Dr. Logsdon has been an English professor at the Community College of Southern Nevada, Las Vegas. He is the author of several textbooks, including the "Community College Reader," in 1984, the "Red Rock Reader," in 2003 and a book of short stories, "Alex the Wolfgod," in 1999. Dr. Logsdon was named in 2004 as the Teacher of the Year by the College of Southern Nevada, and has been published in journals focusing on pop culture and media.
Dr. Logsdon has also been a coach and faculty adviser for college men's and youth soccer programs throughout southern Nevada. In his leisure time, he continues to write fiction, research popular culture, and enjoy the outdoors. A devout Christian, Dr. Logsdon has been married for more than 50 years to Juliet Anne de Neufuille, alongside whom he is the proud parent of two children, as well as four grandchildren.
