A native of Ashkebad, Russia, Dr. Bassim pursued a formal education at Tehran University in Iran, graduating with a Doctor of Medicine in 1961. Subsequently, he relocated to the United States and completed an internship with the Barbeton Citizens Hospital in Ohio from 1964 to 1965. Following these accomplishments, Dr. Bassim worked as a resident in pathology at New York Medical College and became board certified in both clinical and anatomical pathology. He worked as a pathologist at Paterson General Hospital (1969-1972) and set-up and directed a new set of complete hospital laboratories for the Central Saint Lawrence Health Services in Potsdam, New York from 1972 to 1980.
Furthermore, Dr. Bassim served as the director of the Healthcare Laboratory in Potsdam, while simultaneously operating out of a private practice from 1979 until his retirement in 1991. An expert pathologist, he has found success with his written works in the field as well, including "Beyond Communism, Beyond Capitalism," "The Absolute Proof," "About God," and "Human, Human Being, Sub-Human." In the past, Dr. Bassim had maintained his professional relationships with the Saint Lawrence County Medical Society and served as its secretary (1980-1988), New York Medical Society and the American Medical Society.
An exceptional Marquis listee, Dr. Bassim has been featured in the 21st and 22nd editions of Who's Who in the East. Now retired, he enjoys writing symphonies, composing classical music, and listening to 18th and 19th century European Classical Music in his spare time. Likewise, Dr. Bassim's family is rooted in music, having previously taught ballroom dancing while his daughter has become a musician and composer and his grandson has excelled as a dancer.
