Dr. Don Haddad is especially proud of being recognized as the National Superintendent of the Year by the National Association of School Superintendents in 2013.

Recognized for his outstanding leadership skills by parents, students, teachers and the business community alike, Dr. Haddad has served as the Superintendent of Schools for the St. Vrain Valley School District since 2009. As the superintendent, he is responsible for nearly 60 schools spanning 411 square miles, approximately 33,000 students and 6,000 employees. Backed by his considerable experience, Dr. Haddad oversees every aspect of the school district including, but not limited to, the district's budget, academics, parent involvement, and working with business and corporate partners, as well as the Colorado and United States Departments of Education.
Dr. Haddad worked successfully in the St. Vrain Valley School's education system in varying positions, including Deputy Superintendent, Assistant Superintendent, Executive Director of Secondary Schools and the Principal of Niwot High School. Additionally, Dr. Haddad served as an administrator for Fairview High School in the Boulder Valley School District, administrator in the Cherry Creek School District and began his career as a teacher and head wrestling coach for Westminster High School from 1985 to 1990.
In addition to his professional work experience, Dr. Haddad earned a Bachelor of Science Degree, from Colorado State University, a Masters of Education Degree in Education Leadership from the University of Colorado, his Doctorate in Educational Administration from the University of Nova Southeastern and his Superintendent's Licensure from the University of Northern Colorado.
Dr. Haddad retains his professional affiliation with a number of organizations, such as the National Association of School Superintendents, the American Association of School Administrators, the Association of School Business Officials and the Colorado Association of School Executives in order to remain well informed of changes and trends in the profession. Although his career has been filled with highlights, he is especially proud of being recognized as the National Superintendent of the Year by the National Association of School Superintendents in 2013. Additionally, Dr. Haddad's district was one of 16 nationally to be presented with a multi-million dollar grant sponsored by President Obama's administration.
Over the years, Dr. Haddad has been honored on numerous occasions, having been recognized as the Communicator of the Year by the Colorado School Public Relations Association in 2010, Colorado Outstanding Technology Administrator of the Year Award in 2011, and one of the Leaders to Learn From by Education Week in 2015, a premier national publication. Dr. Haddad was celebrated with the Top Organization for Economic Development Award from the Longmont Area Economic Development Partnership, Large Business of the Year by the Longmont Chamber of Commerce, Large Business of the Year by the Carbon Valley Chamber of Commerce, the Most Innovative Business of the Year Award from the Boulder Chamber of Commerce, and the Organization of the Year Award from the International Association of Public Participation. Most recently, he accepted awards for Consortium of School Networks Leading Education in 2018, the International Society of Technology in Education District of Distinction in 2019, and this month was awarded a Top 10 Digital District by The Learning Counsel. He intends to continue to advance the importance of public education for our Nation's future.
