Enjoying a very successful career in business and finance, Mr. Jones began his journey with Wood, Struthers & Winthrop, Inc., a New York Stock Exchange member firm in New York City, in 1956. Serving as general partner, vice president and director of research until 1974, he then accepted an opportunity at Midlantic National Bank in Edison, New Jersey, where he served as senior vice president and chief investment officer. Since 1987, Mr. Jones has been aligned with Edge Partners as the firm's general partner. Located in Shrewsbury, New Jersey, it is an investment firm that specializes in providing strategic planning, investment advice, fairness opinions and asset and securities valuation services to partnerships and real estate investment trusts as well as banks and saving and loan associations.
During his tenure with Edge Partners, Mr. Jones also spent one year as chairman and president of New Jersey Title Insurance Company between 2000 and 2001. Since 2000 he has served as chairman of the board of directors for NJT Holdings, NJ Title's holding company. Locally, Mr. Jones twice served as trustee of the Hampden-Sydney College in Hampden-Sydney, Virginia; president of the board of trustees of the Rumson Country Day School in Rumson, New Jersey; trustee and chairman of the finance committee at Monmouth Medical Center in Long Branch, New Jersey and treasurer of the New York chapter of the Robert E. Lee Memorial Foundation.
Mr. Jones is a 1952 graduate of the Groton School, a coeducational boarding school in Massachusetts.
