Throughout his career, he has represented several award-winning recording artist, writers and prodeucers, as well as television, radio and entertainment personalities. He notably served as attorney and then personal manager for Jazz legend Grover Washington Jr., and served as attorney and manager for six-time Grammy Award winning recording artist and producer Bunny Sigler. Mr. Remick has also represented several World Champion and Olympic gold medal boxers. A registered contract adviser with the National Football League Player's Association and the National Collegiate Athletic Association, Mr. Remick has also represented athletes in a variety of other sports, including basketball, baseball, ice-skating, crew, boxing, soccer and track and field, and has served as an expert witness for various entertainment and sports law cases.
Mr. Remick founded Zane Management, Inc., In 1979. As the president of his consulting and management firm, the organization that specializes in marketing and managing notable performers and personalities in entertainment, sports, media and the arts. The company also provides career planning, including appearances and endorsements, movie and television product placement, video and merchandising production, extensive legal services and other consultation as needed at the individual or corporate level. Mr. Remick is also a well-recognized literary agent handling numerous book, movie, and television deals.
For more than 35 years, Mr. Remick has taught entertainment and sports law at Temple University School of Law. Likewise, he teaches the Legal Aspects of Hospitality and Tourism at the Temple University School of Hospitality and Tourism and delivers guest lecturers to organizations and universities throughout the country on various entertainment, sports, hospitality and business-related topics. In 2017, Mr. Remick authored the lawyer crime novel "Two Times Platinum." The book tells the fictional tale of several entertainment professionals, who all become ensnared in the seedy side of the sports and entertainment industry. He also co-authored several law review articles including "Keeping Out the Little Guy: An Older Contract Advisor's concern, a Younger Contract Advisor's Lament" and "The Personal Manager in the Entertainment and Sports Industries."
As a community advocate, Mr. Remick devoted more than a decade of his career as general counsel for Sunoco Welcome America, Philadelphia's annual 10-day Fourth of July Celebration. He also represented the City of Philadelphia as the city's attorney, the Philadelphia Convention and Visitors' Bureau, We the People 2000, and the NFL Fight Against drugs, a nonprofit organization dedicated to combating the use of drugs in the sports industry, among other organizations. Mr. Remick notably served as a first lieutenant in the US Army as well as an attorney-advisor for the United States Department of Defense.
Mr. Remick received a Bachelor of Science at the University of Pennsylvania Wharton School of Business in 1959, followed by a Doctor of Jurisprudence at Temple University in 1962. He concluded his academic efforts in 1984, earning a Master of Law in Taxation at Villanova University. Mr. Remick has been admitted to practice law since the year 1962 by the Philadelphia and Pennsylvania bar.
Affiliated with several industry-related organizations, Mr. Remick is a member of the Philadelphia Bar Association where he was a recipient of a life-time achievement award for his contributions to the legal profession. He is also active with the Union League of Philadelphia, the Philadelphia Music Foundation, where he served as a member on the board of directors, the American Legion and the Armed Service Council. Honored with several awards and recognitions for his work, including a Philadelphia Achiever Award, the Duke Ellington Humanitarian award, and the Vidoq Society Medal of Honor, Mr. Remick also received a Lifetime Achievement Award from Legal Intelligencer in 2016. He has been named to Super Lawyers for Entertainment and Sports Law and to Best Lawyers in America and named as International Entertainment's Lawyer of the Year.
