Prior to this appointment, he served as an assistant professor with the aforementioned institution for five years, having previously contributed as the director of clinical training for the department of psychology at the University at Buffalo from 1989 to 1994. During this time, Dr. Raulin founded and directed the Anxiety Disorders Clinic at the University at Buffalo from 1988 to 1999. Earlier in his career, he held the post of an administrative director of the Psychological Services Center in Buffalo.
A graduate of the University of Wisconsin, Dr. Raulin earned a Bachelor of Arts in psychology in 1972. Three years later, he received a Master of Science and completed an internship with VA Medical Center in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. He concluded his academic efforts with a Doctor of Philosophy in clinical psychology in 1977. He later became licensed to practice psychology in the state of New York.
Throughout his career, Dr. Raulin feels honored to have been recognized as a top-rated teacher, annually. He was also exceptionally proud to see three of his graduate students become endowed chairs of their university. In addition to his career as an educator, Dr. Raulin worked as a psychologist in private practice in Buffalo from 1984 to 2003. He also participated in a committee designed to develop a Regents college exam in abnormal psychology via the New York State Department of Education and served as a psychology consultant for the VA Medical Center in Buffalo.
An expert in critical thinking and risk factors associated with schizophrenia, Dr. Raulin's published works include "Research Methods: A Process of Inquiry," and "Abnormal Psychology." As an editor, he contributed to the Journal of Abnormal Psychology and the Journal of Consulting and Clinical Psychology, as well as several other professional publications and journals. For his contributions in the industry, Dr. Raulin has received numerous honors and accolades, including the Superior Teaching Award from the University of Wisconsin, the Distinguished Achievement Award from the Psychological Association of Western New York, and an Award of Appreciation from the Association of Directors of Psychology Training Clinics.
