KALAMAZOO, MI, November 01, 2019 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Marquis Who's Who, the world's premier publisher of biographical profiles, is proud to present Robert Badra with the Albert Nelson Marquis Lifetime Achievement Award. An accomplished listee, Mr. Badra celebrates many years' experience in his professional network, and has been noted for achievements, leadership qualities, and the credentials and successes he has accrued in his field. As in all Marquis Who's Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. Factors such as position, noteworthy accomplishments, visibility, and prominence in a field are all taken into account during the selection process.
A student of life who desired to keep learning and sharing what he had learned with others, Mr. Badra pursued a career in higher education. A steadfast believer that books are hardbound teachers, he is inspired by the thousands of books he has read in the subject areas of philosophy, theology, science and technology. Furthermore, Mr. Badra has obtained a Master of Divinity from Saint John's Provincial Seminary, a Master of Arts from Western Michigan University and a Bachelor of Arts from the Sacred Heart Seminary.
From 1961 to 1965, Mr. Badra served as an ordained priest in the Roman Catholic Church. His teaching career began after he accepted a faculty teaching position at Kalamazoo Valley Community College in 1968. His faculty staff position at the aforementioned college spans across several decades. Most recently, Mr. Badra taught meditation at Kalamazoo College as a visiting instructor from 2009 to 2012.
Mr. Badra worked as a faculty member of ministry formation at the Catholic Diocese in Kalamazoo from 1999 to 2003. He further held the role of an adjunct professor at Siena Heights University in 1993 and Nazareth College from 1985 to 1991. Mr. Badra excelled on the board of directors at Van Buren Youth Camp from 1993 to 2007, for which he was active as the vice president from 2002 to 2007, and the Kalamazoo Humanities Council from 1983 to 1986.
Mr. Badra was presented with an Education Award from the ExxonMobil Foundation in 1996. He additionally accepted a grant from the National Endowment of the Humanities from 1991 to 1993. Moreover, Mr. Badra is a member of the Association for Religion and Intellectual Life.
A highlight of Mr. Badra' life was watching both of his daughters excel academically and graduate with college degrees. Another highlight was meeting Lewis Cotlow, the author of a book on primitive cultures. To this day, Mr. Badra is inspired by the words Mr. Cotlow uttered when they parted company: "Nothing happens to you until it happens to you," and "Do not seek recognition. Let recognition come to you."
