PHILADELPHIA, PA, November 05, 2019 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Michael E. Poploskie has been inducted into Marquis Who's Who. With more than 15 years of experience as a physical education teacher, Mr. Poploskie has served in this position at the Mastery Charter Schools' Pickett Campus in Philadelphia since 2007, where he has also been active as the athletic director for more than 10 years. He previously held the roles of a summer school administrator at the aforementioned institution from 2009 to 2016 and a permanent substitute teacher within the Bristol Borough School District's high school and middle school from 2005 to 2007. Mr. Poploskie began his career at the latter school district as a student teacher of health and physical education from January to March of 2005.
Mr. Poploskie further garnered valuable expertise as an educator at Warren Snyder-John Girotti Elementary School in Bristol and Conwell-Egan Catholic High School. Having always played sports throughout his life, he knew he wanted to become a physical education teacher since he was a high school student. Mr. Poploskie dedicated most of his teenage years assisting his Little League coach and working at a recreation center.
Before embarking on his professional path, Mr. Poploskie pursued a formal education at West Chester University, from which he attained a Bachelor of Science in health and physical education, with a minor in coaching, health and nutrition, in 2005. He subsequently earned a Master of Education at Cabrini College in 2008 before concluding his studies at California University of Pennsylvania, graduating with a Master of Athletic Administration in 2012. He has been registered as a master athletic administrator and an athletic administrator through the National Interscholastic Athletic Administrators Association. Mr. Poploskie likewise became certified as an interscholastic coach and an accredited interscholastic coach by the National Federation of State High School Associations.
Outside of his primary responsibilities in the field, Mr. Poploskie has been active as the commissioner of the Metropolitan Philadelphia Athletic Association since 2013, the commissioner of the Bristol Borough Little League from 2010 to 2012, and a volunteer assistant at the Bristol Borough Recreation Basketball Camp since 2005. The coach of Bristol Borough's kickball league, he was appointed as the head coach of Mastery Charity's junior varsity boys' baseball team from 2008 to 2018 and its varsity girls' basketball team from 2011 to 2012. Since 2000, Mr. Poploskie has excelled as a volunteer Little League umpire.
In recognition of his achievements so far, Mr. Poploskie was recognized as the 2018 Pennsylvania State Athletic Director of the Year for the Philadelphia region, for which he was honored at the Pennsylvania State Athletic Director's Association conference. Over the course of his productive career, he has remained affiliated with numerous organizations, including the Pennsylvania State Athletic Directors Association, the National Interscholastic Athletic Administrators Association, and the Philadelphia Public League. Upon reflection of his career, he attributes much of his success to observing his father's work ethic and determination while growing up.
