Prior to these roles, she worked as a principal caseworker with Walton County Family and Child Services from 1992 to 1994, for which she was active as a senior caseworker from 1987 to 1991. She found success as a teacher with the Gwinnett Board of Education from 1976 to 1986 and a preschool teacher with Playcare at Tucker from 1972 to 1974. Ms. Peredney began her career as a psychometrist with the University of Georgia Guidance Center from 1966 to 1967 and a teacher with the DeKalb Board of Education from 1967 to 1968.
Ms. Peredney initially pursued an education with the University of Georgia, where she obtained a Bachelor of Science in 1966. Completing postgraduate coursework at the United States Air Force Administration in 1969 and LaSalle Extension University in 1971, she continued her studies at the University of Georgia, earning a Master of Science in 1971. She subsequently graduated from Georgia State University with a certificate in 1979. Moreover, Ms. Peredney has been certified as an elementary teacher, an administrator, and a gifted education teacher in the state of Georgia, as well as in TANF, PEACH, and Food Stamps by the U.S. Department of Children and Family Services.
A respected voice in her areas of interest, Ms. Peredney has been affiliated with a number of professional organizations. She is a member of the Lilburn Women's Club, Alpha Delta Kappa, Phi Beta Kappa, and Phi Kappa Phi. For her contributions to the field, she has been recognized throughout her career, including having accepted the Lilburn Woman's Club Lifetime Achievement Award and Woman of the Year Award. Ms. Peredney has been featured in numerous honors publications, including multiple editions of Who's Who in the South and Southwest.
