Noelle Raffaele is thrilled to be embarking on a path of such promise and opportunity to do what she loves most - tell stories with humanity and heart.
LOS ANGELES, CA, November 12, 2019 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Noelle Raffaele has been included in Marquis Who's Who. As in all Marquis Who's Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. Factors such as position, noteworthy accomplishments, visibility, and prominence in a field are all taken into account during the selection process.
A native New Yorker, Raffaele knew from a very young age that she was meant to tell stories. A love of drawing came early, and a fascination with moving drawings followed quickly thereafter. This culminated in an experience that solidified her path in life, to pursue a career in animation. When she was 6 years old, she entered and won a coloring contest that brought her to the original premiere of Disney's The Lion King at Radio City Music Hall in New York City. After witnessing the impact that an animated film could have on an audience of such a scale, and at a venue so majestic - the magic of animated storytelling left its indelible mark and there was no looking back.
Years of pursuing art alongside her studies ultimately led Raffaele to acceptance into The Cooper Union for the Advancement of Science and Art, where she earned a BFA in 2009. Alongside this early formative experience, she simultaneously began her professional career creating concept art for TV (City Lights Television). This expanded into further roles as an art director, concept artist, graphic designer, and storyboard artist for Notional and Collegehumor (IAC), and Ardaban (Shine America.) Keeping up her fine arts discipline, she also exhibited in Rites of Passage at the Herb Lubalin Gallery in 2010 and The Artist's Palate at Buzzfeed Cult Studios in 2012. Raffaele steered this career momentum closer to her desire to work specifically in animation when she joined the motion graphics animation team at The String Theory and took several PIXAR Masterclasses in story development, character animation, and character design. A more intensive summer of study at the UCLA Animation Workshop in Los Angeles ultimately led her to stay there, when she landed a job opportunity as a character designer at Six Point Harness.
Having broken into the animation industry proper, Raffaele was able to flourish in a new community and on a new coast, joining the Animation Guild within a few months and expanding into the roles of storyboard artist, character designer, and prop designer on various projects such as Monster High, Barbie: Super Sparkle, The Spongebob Movie: Sponge Out of Water, Lizzie (Dreamworks TV), Radlands, and Like Share Die, etc. Her role as Art Director on the Amazon pilot, Everstar was a breakout leadership role that led to contributing as both a storyboard artist and character designer for Disney's The Legend of the Three Caballeros (Disney+). It was not long before Raffaele branched off into feature animation, joining Warner Bros. Studios in 2016 as a story artist. She had the great privilege of contributing to films like The Lego Ninjago Movie (2017) and S.C.O.O.B. (2020), as well as Development for Space Jam 2, Billion Brick Race, and other untitled projects. Raffaele was soon tapped to direct for Warner Bros. TV animation, on the reboot of DC Superhero Girls, which premiered on Cartoon Network in March 2019. She was thrilled to have been an integral part of shaping Season 1 of the show, directing 17 episodes as well as the pilot, a four-part TV movie, Sweet Justice.
This exciting trajectory has led Raffaele to a new opportunity at Dreamworks animation, a return to feature format, and a new crossroads - her feature directorial debut. She is thrilled to be embarking on a path of such promise and opportunity to do what she loves most - tell stories with humanity and heart.
