Ms. Guzak celebrates many years' experience in her professional network, and has been noted for achievements, leadership qualities, and the credentials and successes she has accrued. Ms. Guzak is a visual artist, a business owner, and an elected official with more than 35 years of service to her community and discipline. She initially pursued an education at the University of Colorado Boulder, as a Boettcher Scholar, graduating in 1961 with a Bachelor of Science. Subsequently, Ms. Guzak earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts at the Cornish School of Allied Arts in 1976.
Since 1982, Ms. Guzak has excelled as the president of Karen Guzak, Inc. She was the founder of the Sunny Arms Artists' Cooperative in Seattle, and co-founder of the Union Art Cooperative, winner of the Seattle Times AIA Home of the Year Award in 1994. Furthermore, she created many public art works, including projects for Southern Oregon State College, the City of Bellevue, WA, and Sound Transit. Ms. Guzak is also an honorary member of the American Institute of Architects, Seattle Chapter.

Ms. Guzak is additionally represented in the permanent collections of the Portland Art Museum, the Jundt Museum at Gonzaga University, the Tacoma Art Museum, and with various private art collectors. An early adaptor of integrating computers for creating fine art, she often references scientific principles in her images.
Active in local arts initiatives, she is a former member of the King County Arts Commission and was Board President of Artist Trust, supporting artists of all disciplines in Washington State. She has authored several books about her work as well, including "Paintings, Prints and Public Art and Design" in 2011.
Since moving to Snohomish, WA, she has contributed to her community as the owner of the Yoga Circle Studio and Angel Arms Works, a design and art studio.
