Mr. Robson is renowned as a retired nursing administrator who celebrates 30 years of service with the U.S. Navy, working in various Naval hospitals in the United States and abroad. Initially serving a staff nurse at Millington, Tennessee, he later worked his way up to the director of nursing at the Guantanamo Bay Naval Hospital in Cuba and Camp Lejeune Naval Hospital in North Carolina. Mr. Robson dedicated the remainder of his career at the Cherry Point Naval Hospital in North Carolina as the executive officer between 1996 and 1999.
Leading an impressive career in the field, Mr. Robson found success as an advisor and a flight nurse for the U.S. Coast Guard Station in Corpus Christi, Texas. He was later active as a clinical coordinator for the Naval Base-Haitian Migrant Camp in Guantanamo Bay. Mr. Robson also taught for a short time as a rural nursing instructor for the Emergency Nurses Association in the state of Washington.
Born in Pennsylvania, Mr. Robson received an opportunity while in high school to volunteer at a local hospital. It was during those influential years that the director of nursing convinced him to study nursing in college. Mr. Robson subsequently obtained a diploma from the Alexian Brothers Hospital in Chicago in 1969, a bachelor's degree at Park College in Missouri in 1982 and a Master of Public Administration at Troy State University in Alabama in 1992.
Mr. Robson is a member of the Emergency Nurses Association. A past member of the High School Boosters in Havelock, North Carolina, he was involved as a coach for the Babe Ruth Baseball Program, also in Havelock. One of the highlights of his career was working as a search and rescue nurse with the Naval Hospital at Whidbey Island off the coast of Washington, during which time he was involved with more than 100 missions. Mr. Robson also provided medical care to some 30,000 Haitian refugees while working in Cuba, which was a very rewarding experience.
In honor of his service, Mr. Robson was decorated with the Legion of Merit, two Meritorious Service Medals and two U.S. Navy Commendation Medals. He was additionally presented with a Sharpshooter Award from the U.S. Navy in 1991. A celebrated Marquis listee, Mr. Robson has been featured in Who's Who in American Nursing and Who's Who in Medicine and Healthcare.
