Today, she is the owner of STAR Secrets, an organization she established in 2017. A successful and tenured business owner, Ms. Pochini formerly owned and operated Judy Hay Interiors in Lafayette, California and Santa Barbara between 1995 and 2007. During her career, Ms. Pochini also worked for several other design firms, and excelled as the owner and the editor of a home furnishings newsletter called Lifestyle West. She also was trade publications editor for Sunset Magazine and a market columnist for Furniture Today.
In 1971, Ms. Pochini was featured on a public television series, "Interior Design for You and Your Home." She also authored a book in 2007 titled "The Frittata Affair: Adventures in Four-Star Dining at Home." Moreover, Ms. Pochini has contributed multiple articles to various professional publications.
Ms. Pochini received a Bachelor of Arts at the University of California (UC) Santa Barbara in 1953, where she was recognized as being the first woman to major in the business economics program. Returning to school, she acquired a Master of Arts in journalism at UC Berkeley in 1965. While in graduate school, she wrote the curriculum and taught at Erica Hansell Secretarial School in San Francisco between 1962 and 1965. Ms. Pochini likewise attended the John Roberts Powers School in San Francisco where she subsequently worked as a personal development instructor, and studied interior design at the University of Minnesota. She has been a Certified Professional Secretary since 1959.
Ms. Pochini served as a member of the National Consumer Action Panel for the carpet and rug industry in Dalton, Georgia. She is a member and a past president of the Santa Barbara branch of the American Association of University Women, a board member of the UC Santa Barbara Music Affiliates and the UC Santa Barbara Alumni Association, a member of the International Furnishings and Design Association, Women in Communications Incorporated, and the fraternal society of Chi Omega. A celebrated Marquis listee, Ms. Pochini has been featured in over 15 editions of Who's Who in America, Who's Who in the West, Who's Who in the World, and Who's Who of American Women.
