She previously held the positions as a staff nurse, nurse manager of urgent care, clinical director of urgent care, and the eventually becoming the Director of Clinical Services for Family Health Center of Worcester, Incorporated between 1992 and 2007. She previously held the positions of a nurse manager of urgent care and a staff nurse with the same company between 1994 and 2004. She excelled as an associate nurse manager and a night supervisor for Fairlawn Rehabilitation Hospital, an affiliate of Encompass Health, from 1991 to 1994. Furthermore, Dr. Ciance was employed by Worcester City Hospital.
Prior to embarking on her professional journey, Dr. Ciance initially completed coursework at the School of Nursing in Worcester City Hospital. She enrolled at Worcester State University, formerly known as the Worcester State Teachers College, earning a Bachelor of Science in nursing and Master of Science in nursing. She concluded her academic efforts at Walden University, graduating with a Doctor of Nursing Practice in 2014.
Outside of her immediate professional responsibilities, Dr. Ciance is a member of the National Association of Female Executives, the American Nurses Association, and Sigma Theta Tau International Honor Society for Nurses, of which she was elected as the President of the Iota Phi at-large chapter in 2019. In 2014, she was inducted into the Golden Key International Honor Society from Walden University. She has notably authored multiple articles for such esteemed publications as the Journal of Nursing and Care.
