Dr. Hyung Keun Park has authored a number of books and articles
CHUNGCHEONGBUK-DO, SOUTH KOREA, November 26, 2019 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Dr. Hyung Keun Park has been included in Marquis Who's Who. Drawing upon decades of practiced experience in engineering, Dr. Park currently serves as the head of the Chungcheong Regional Infrastructure Technology Management Center. Likewise, he has further excelled as the policy advisor for the Korea Research Center for Overseas Construction and the International Contractors Association of Korea. Additionally, Dr. Park has found success as a professor at the School of Engineering at Chungbuk National University.
Moreover, Dr. Park is a member of the technical advisory committee for ChungCheongNamdo Development Corporation and Chungju City, where he aims on remaining until 2021. He is also active on various committees for the Korea Industrial Complex Corporation, the Seoul Metropolitan Government and the Incheon Regional Office of Oceans and Fisheries. Dr. Park built his professional foundation of his career with the Daewoo Engineering and Construction Company and the Army Reserve Officers' Training Corps.
Previously, Dr. Park honed his considerable knowledge through administrative and membership roles with the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport's Defect Assessment and Dispute Resolution Committee, the Korea Expressway Corporation, Cheongju and Cheonan Cities, the Ministry of Oceans and Fisheries, the Korea Construction Engineers Association, the Korea Environment Corporation and the Supreme Court of Korea. Over the years, he has also gained valuable industry experience through his work with the Ministry of National Defense of United States Military Base Relocation Team, the Saemangeum Development and Investment Agency, the Korea Agency for Infrastructure Technology Advancement and the National Agency for Administrative City Construction. Although his career has been filled with highlights, Dr. Park is especially proud of receiving the Land Transport Research and Development Excellence Award for three consecutive years.
In 1982, Dr. Park earned a Bachelor of Science in civil engineering from Yonsei University. Subsequently, he concluded his studies at the University of Wisconsin-Madison, obtaining a Master of Science in 1999 and a Doctor of Philosophy in civil and environmental engineering in 2001, as well as two national technical qualifications for civil engineering and quality engineering management through the Republic of Korea. In order to remain aware of changes in the field, he is affiliated with the Global Construction Professionals' Forum and the Chungcheong chapter of the Korea Institute of Construction Engineering and Management. In previous years, Dr. Park aligned himself with the Korea Society of Civil Engineers as well.
With a plethora of knowledge at his disposal, Dr. Park has authored a number of books and articles, including "Construction Management: Contract/Claim/Risk Management," "Architecture: A Study on Rural Village and Rural House," "Social Infrastructure Regeneration Theory," "How to Develop Project Control Management System in General Contractors" and Cash Flow Forecasting for Corporate Level in Korea," which was featured in the Journal of Construction in Korea. For his professional achievements, he has been recognized numerous times, accepting the Man of the Year Award from the Republic of Korea Army in 1984, the Daewoo Engineering and Construction Company in 1995, the Construction Management Association of Korea in 1997 and the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport in 2010. More recently, he was honored with the Springer Award from the Society of Civil Engineers and the Best Paper Award from the Korean Society of Civil Engineers and the Korea Water Resources Association. Looking toward the future, Dr. Park aims to be working for a construction engineering consulting firm.
