He found success as a general agent for Guardian Life Insurance Company of America in Miami from 1968 until his mandatory retirement from the company in 1995. Fascinated by new concerns about climate change and ecological welfare, and not yet ready to retire, Mr. Gindy became the president of Greenpower Global Technology, a wind and solar power equipment company, with which he has excelled since 1996.
Mr. Gindy is the author of more than 35 short stories, and has hosted more than a dozen podcasts about various lifestyle topics. He is the recipient of numerous honors for his accomplishments in the insurance industry, including being recognized as the Man of the Year by the Miami Association of Life Underwriters in 1972 and 1987. He is a past president of the American Society of Chartered Life Underwriters, Miami Association of Life Underwriters, General Agents and Managers Association, and The Interprofessional Council.
His deceased wife Judith Gindy was the founder of Party Magic Inc. and Celebrity Look-Alikes Inc. Mr. Gindy is the father of Deborah Gindy Weed, a published author and illustrator, David Gindy, founder of Fun Camps Inc., popular summer camps since 1989, and Daniel Gindy, manager of Greenpower Global Technology Inc. He has three grandsons and one great grandson.
