Upon her high school graduation, she enrolled at LIM College in New York City, where she earned a Bachelor of Arts in fashion merchandising and retail management. Subsequently, Ms. Penn began her career as the director of planning for women's sportswear at London Fog Industries in 1998.
Ms. Penn later worked for Macy's Merchandising Group in New York in various leadership roles from the manager of human resources (project management and systems training), the director of planning for the home division, and director for inventory control between 1999 and 2006. Following this appointment, she found success with Saks Fifth Avenue at the director of financial merchant systems and project management from 2007 to 2010 and the director of merchandise planning for men's dress furnishings, shoes, outerwear and home from 2010 to 2011. In 2012, she served as the business manager for the better sportswear division of The Jones Group, Inc., having thereafter flourished as a merchandise planner for the jewelry division of Charming Charlie in Houston until 2016. From 2016 to 2017, Ms. Penn was active as the manager of merchandise planning for the sportswear division for retail and ecommerce businesses at Talbots.
Since 2017, Ms. Penn has excelled as the strategic account manager of B-Stock Solutions in Boston. After receiving the B-Stock Grade A Award, she was promoted to the company's first fashion strategy manager of private marketplaces. She was also recognized in the 2019 "Pros to Know" by Supply & Demand Chain Executive magazine. Throughout her career, she has been renowned as a pioneering figure in business development and in applied merchandising techniques to maximize profit. Priding herself on her fearless, adaptable nature, Ms. Penn attributes her success to her hard work, tenacity, passion and her aptitude for testing herself towards constant improvement.
