Additionally, she has handled felony cases involving juveniles, and supervised law clerks' misdemeanor trials and litigation of various motions in both adult and juvenile courts.
Before her tenure as a deputy district attorney, Ms. Rios Reddick worked as an assistant coordinator for Academics for Success from 2008 to 2010, a judicial extern for the Honorable Maria Elena James of the U.S. District Court for the Northern District in 2008 and a summer law clerk for the Alameda County District Attorney's Office in 2007. She began her career as a summer associate for Coblentz, Patch, Duff & Bass, LLP, where she garnered valuable expertise on cases involving the Fair Housing Act, the Fair Employment Housing Act, real estate issues and commercial disputes. In pursuit of her legal dreams, Ms. Rios Reddick earned a Bachelor of Arts in sociology from the University of California, Berkeley in 2004 and a Doctor of Jurisprudence from the University of California, Hastings College of the Law in 2008.
Moreover, Ms. Rios Reddick retains her professional alignment as a board member and Judicial Endorsements Chair of East Bay La Raza Lawyers Association, a former board member of Bay Area Black Prosecutors Association and a former member of Charles Houston Bar Association. During her spare time, she contributes to her community as a mentor with East Bay College Fund and Oakland Promise, and Centro Legal de La Raza Youth Law Academy Advisory Committee. She also participates with ChangedLawyers. Throughout her career, Ms. Rios Reddick has parlayed her knowledge of the field to others as a speaker at various panels.
In light of her professional accomplishments, Ms. Rios Reddick accepted the Unity Award from the Minority Bar Coalition. She was additionally presented with the CALI Excellence for the Future Award in Race, Racism and the American Law and the CALI Excellence for the Future Award in Trial Advocacy while in law school. Looking toward the future, Ms. Rios Reddick aims to experience continued success in her current role and continue to mentor youth.
