While coming of age, Mr. Carter drew inspiration from his uncle, who had worked for the Federal Reserve Bank of Little Rock. At a young age he was intrigued about the field of entrepreneurship. This ultimately drove the young Mr. Carter enough to pursue a career of his own in banking. Upon graduating from Arkansas Tech University with a Bachelor of Science in 2002, Mr. Carter earned a Master of Business Administration in Finance from the University of Arkansas Little Rock in 2005.
In 2009, Mr. Carter began his career with the Bank OZK in Arkansas as a vice president, further progressing to the role of senior vice president by 2010. The following year, he assumed the position of Little Rock Market President, subsequently accepting the role of deputy director, then director of community banking between 2014 and 2018. Currently, Mr. Carter holds the position of chief credit officer for Bank OZK. In addition to his primary endeavors, he also contributes to the Ronald McDonald House Charities of Arkansas as a board member.
In recognition of his career accomplishments thus far, Mr. Carter has been the recipient of numerous honors including the William H. Bowen Commercial Salesperson of the Year from Regions Bank in 2008, a graduate of Leadership Little Rock Class XXVII, and was listed as a 40 Under 40 by the Arkansas Business Publishing Group in 2014.
