Dr. Shukla is renowned as a pharmaceutical company executive with more than 40 years of innovation in the field. Interested in health sciences from an early age, he initially pursued an education at Nagpur University, earning a Bachelor of Science in pharmacy in 1974. Subsequently relocating to the United States in 1975, he continued his studies at the Massachusetts College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences, obtaining a Master of Science in 1976 and a Doctor of Philosophy in 1979. Dr. Shukla concluded his academic efforts with a Master of Business Administration in 1984 from the University of Delaware.
From 1976 to 1979, Dr. Shukla began his career as a research assistant at the Massachusetts College of Pharmacy in Boston, MA. He later worked as a senior research pharmacist at the Reid Provident Laboratory in Atlanta, GA, from 1979 to 1980. Following these appointments, Dr. Shukla found success at E.I DuPont de Nemours in Wilmington, DE, as a process chemist from 1980 to 1985, a senior process chemist from 1985 to 1988 and a group leader from 1989 to 1990.
Dr. Shukla further flourished as a research manager for DuPont Merck Pharmaceutical Company in 1991 rising to the title of Director. At DuPont Merck Dr Shukla had different responsibilities in formulation development, scale up and technology transfer and clinical supplies management. In 2001 Dr Shukla joined McKesson Bio Services in Maryland as Vice President of Pharmaceutical Services responsible for technical aspects and business development. In 2006, Dr Shukla was offered an opportunity at Incyte Corporations as Vice President of CMC and responsible for establishing a pharmaceutical product development team. Later, Dr. Shukla also supported in bringing in house product development activities related to large molecules and biologicals. Over 40 years of his career Dr. Shukla has been involved in successful submissions of several New Drug Applications (NDA) to the Food and Drug Administrations (FDA) and bringing new drugs to the market.
