In a career filled with highlights, Georgianne Bowman is most proud of her efforts to restore the 1851 Quaker Meeting House and opening of North Collins History Museum.

Drawing upon more than 55 years of practiced industry experience, Ms. Bowman has excelled as a historian for the town of North Collins since 2001 and the village of North Collins since 2003. Prior to her current positions, she gained valuable expertise in journalism as a local newspaper reporter with H&K Publication between 1985 and 2007. Ms. Bowman began her career as an executive secretary with Baillie Lumber Co., Inc. and Clarke & Rapuana.
Over the years, Ms. Bowman has also served as a history club advisor for North Collins Central Schools. Backed by her considerable expertise, Ms. Bowman has authored "Around North Collins," "Centennial of the Village of North Collins," as well as several cookbooks, including "1860s Foods: Union, Confederate & on the Frontier," "Holy Spirit School – Still Cookin'" and "A Taste of North Collins Traditions."
In order to enhance her development in the field, Ms. Bowman was affiliated with the Association of Living History & Agriculture Museum, the Civil War Preservation Trust, the American Association of Museum Volunteers, and the Colonial Williamsburg Foundation, Association for State and Local History, and remains affiliated with and the Association of Public Historians of New York State, and Government Appointed Historians of Western New York. She is also a member of the Buffalo and Erie County Historical Society and North Collins Historical Society. In addition, she provided time and resources to organization of records and artifacts for Schoolhouse #8 History Center and Museum opening. She was also awarded a Hackman Research Residency at NYS Archives. In previous years, Ms. Bowman contributed to numerous organizations, including the New York State Federation of Catholic School Parents, the Diocese of Buffalo Catholic School Parents, Holy Spirit School Home School Association, Immaculate Conception Parents Guild, and served on the Interstate Accreditation Committee for Immaculate Conception School, all while serving as Project Leader for Lawtons Progressors 4-H Club for 25 years.
In light of her professional excellence, Ms. Bowman was honored as the Parent Volunteer of the Year by the Immaculate Conception Home School Association. She was additionally presented with the APHNYS Registered Historian Award, the Catherine Aungst Parent Volunteer of the Year Award, the Albert Nelson Marquis Lifetime Achievement Award and the School Parent Service Award from the National Catholic Education Association. She has been selected for inclusion in many editions of Who's Who in America, Who's Who in the World and Who's Who of American Women as well. Looking toward the future, Ms. Bowman hopes to experience continued success of her career in the local history field.
