Beginning his career at the turn of the century, Mr. Donaldson is a past senior vice president of Merrill Lynch and Morgan Stanley. In 2010 Mr. Donaldson showing his business dexterity became the interim chief executive officer of the Americas, RMJM, and the London based nuclear design firm YRM from 2010 to 2014. During this term Mr. Donaldson served a dual role working for the U.S. Government and living in the Mideast. Thereafter, he became theco-founder and managing director of Nova Investment Partners between 2013 and 2016, overseeing the formation of NOVA Investment Partners, the acquisition of AFS and starting LoanBeam LLC. A former president of the Bond Club of New York in 2011, Mr. Donaldson has also served as the founder of Fourth Creek Conservancy, a board member of the Scottish National Library and Galleries, and the founder of the British Relief Fund.
Drawing his experiences while studying finance and economics from Villanova University, Mr. Donaldson recalls coming out of his early years in Wall Street and noticing that most of the successful people with whom he dealt were business owners. As owners, he notes that they brought ideas to fruition and took control of their own destiny. Mr. Donaldson attributes his success to the knowledge he gained while working in the financial industry, particularly with Merrill Lynch, as well as the mentors he has come across throughout his career.
A former treasurer of the Scottish National Galleries and a member of the British American Trade Association, Mr. Donaldson is also an accomplished public speaker, entrepreneur, technology and client acquisition leader. Looking toward the future, he intends to assist in the education of young individuals who have not been exposed to an entrepreneurial environment, particularly in teaching them how to build teams, build a product service and take it to market. While schools and the basis for education in the United States are adequate, Mr. Donaldson believes that real world experience is difficult to come by in certain areas of the country, and wishes to rectify this.
