BROOMFIELD, CO, February 13, 2020 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Marquis Who's Who, the world's premier publisher of biographical profiles, is proud to present Roy Sigurd Kullby, Esq., with the Albert Nelson Marquis Lifetime Achievement Award. An accomplished listee, Mr. Kullby celebrates many years' experience in his professional network, and has been noted for achievements, leadership qualities, and the credentials and successes he has accrued in his field. As in all Marquis Who's Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. Factors such as position, noteworthy accomplishments, visibility, and prominence in a field are all taken into account during the selection process.
Mr. Kullby has accrued more than 40 years of inimitable expertise as a Federal Litigation Attorney in the fields of Antitrust and Corporate law. Including two years serving his country in the U.S. Marine Corps, Mr. Kullby earned an engineering Degree from Purdue University, West Lafayette, Indiana, and was awarded his Law Degree by Indiana University School of Law, Bloomington, both as of February 1952.
Mr. Kullby was initially associated with the Chicago firm Pope & Ballard, which was then defending against the Government's Antitrust suit to divest the du Pont company of its controlling stock ownership in General Motors. Later in 1955, he obtained an appointment with the Department of Justice in Washington, whose Antitrust Division was litigating to break up the then Private International Oil Cartel. Seeking more direct individual courtroom trial experience, Mr. Kullby secured a transfer in 1957 back to Chicago as an Assistant U.S. Attorney, where his Federal Trial Court experience flourished. In 1959, he was invited back to Pope & Ballard, where he remained until 1971, during which he further specialized in corporate litigation. For a short while, Mr. Kullby was associated on site with the purchaser of the Steamboat Springs Ski Resort in Colorado, but in 1974 he again returned to Chicago as a partner in the firm of Vedder, Price, Kaufman & Kammholz, where he re-entered the practice of corporate litigation.
During his busy years in law practice, he served as co-chair of the American Bar Association's committee on "Commercial, Banking and Financial Transactions Litigation," plus comparable committees on Practice and Procedure of the Illinois, Chicago and 7th Federal Circuit Bar associations. Mr. Kullby is admitted to practice law in the states of Indiana, Illinois, and Colorado and before the U.S. Supreme Court. He was an editor of the Indiana University Law Journal and later of the legal handbook "Trade Secrets and Restrictive Covenants in Employment Agreements." Upon retiring from the practice of law in 1986, he and his wife acquired Estey Printing Company in Boulder, Colorado, a four-color commercial printer for which they tripled its sales during their 12-year tenure until full retirement, with the sale of the company in 1998. Mr. Kullby at the age of 92 (a/o the year 2020) resides with his wife and their Spring Spaniel in the suburban area of Denver, Colorado.
