From 1976 to 1979, Mr. McMahon was active as the owner of Seattle Recycling, Inc., one of the first companies in the Pacific Northwest region to offer door-to-door recycling services to consumers. He worked as a program planner for the city of Seattle from 1979 to 1980, developing Seattle's first recycling strategy, at which point he accepted the position of a division manager at Fibres International, developing a region wide aluminum recovery effort. Mr. McMahon has further flourished as the owner of the Environmental Enhancement Group in Lynnwood, WA, from 1985 to 1988, and the regional manager of 20:20 Recycle Centers in Los Angeles from 1987 to 1988.
Mr. McMahon has found further success as the national marketing director of May Manufacturing in Denver, CO, from 1990 to 1994 and a managing partner of Agua Fria Enterprises from 1992 to 1998. He additionally served with the Nature Conservancy as the director of the Mackinaw River Project from 1994 to 1998, and as the Grand Canyon Trust's regional director for southwest Utah from 1999 to 2002. Since 2002, Mr. McMahon has excelled as the chief executive officer of Sweetwater, LLC, a consumer water purification company.
