Additionally, he has been active as a visiting research scholar with the Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory for the 16 years, and as an invited speaker for a variety of international conferences and symposia. Prior to his current positions, Mr. Luo worked as the director of the Institute of Modern Physics of the Chinese Academy of Sciences between 1994 and 1999 and the Deputy Director of the Lanthou National Laboratory of Heavy Ion Accelerator during the majority of the 1990s.
Throughout his career, Mr. Luo has gained valuable expertise in the field as the Vice Director, a Professor of Physics and an Associate Professor for the Chinese Academy of Sciences' Institute of Modern Physics. A visiting scholar with Daresbury National Laboratory in England and the Instituto Nazionale di Fisica Nucleare in Italy (the International Advisory Committee), he further flourished as an invited member of the Research Center for Nuclear Physics at Osaka University. A graduate of the Department of Modern Physics of the University of Science and Technology of China, Mr. Luo retains his professional alignment with the China Physics Society and the China Nuclear Physics Society (CNPS), serving as the Vice President and President of the CNPS from 1994 to 2000. Backed by his considerable knowledge, he has contributed his wealth of expertise to a plethora of articles and invited talks in conference proceedings, including "Synthesis and study of heavy neutron-rich nuclei", "The super-deformed bands in Nd and Ce nuclei in light rare-earths", "Evolution of Chirality from a soft 108Ru to Triaxial IlO,1l2Ru". Apart from his efforts as an author, Mr. Luo was invited as member of the International Advisory Committees of international conferences since 1995, and helped to edit High Energy Physics and Nuclear Physics between 1994 and 2000.
In recognition of his professional efforts, Mr. Luo has been honored many times, accepting a second Class National Prize for National Sciences, the First Class Award for Natural Sciences, the Second Class Award for Natural Sciences, and the First Class Award for Achievements in Science and Technology from the Chinese Academy of Sciences between 1994 and 1999. He was also recognized as an Outstanding Scientist of the Chinese Academy of Sciences and through the Ministry of Science and Technology.
