Mr. Minicola is renowned as a hospitality management professional with more than 40 years of excellence in his field. He initially pursued an education at the Cornell University School of Hotel Administration, and obtained a certificate in labor negotiations from Harvard University. Mr. Minicola entered the hospitality industry as a way to secure medical benefits for his family, yet quickly discovered a talent for training and management. His humble start was in 1979 at the Westin Ilikai Hotel.
From 1993 to 1997, Mr. Minicola was promoted to general manager of the 612 room Outrigger Hobron Hotel. He further flourished as the general manager of multiple Outrigger Hotels through 2003, at which point he accepted the position of regional vice president of operations and industrial relations for HTH Corporation. He would remain active with HTH Corporation until 2013, having excelled as the chief executive officer for the Protocol Group, LLC from 2013 to 2017. The general manager of the Hilton Garden Inn Kauai from 2017 from 2019, Mr. Minicola currently excels with Sightline Hospitality as the manager of the Kauai Beach Resort and Spa.
Notably, Mr. Minicola is proud to be the only general manager in Hawaii history to negotiate a hotel-industry labor union contract for ten years. He attributes his success to his dedication, his patience and his willingness to do the jobs that others refuse. Likewise, he is a member of the Kauai Visitor Bureau and the Kauai Community College Advisory Board.
