With nearly 25 years of experience to her credit, Dr. Brown is board certified in Oriental medicine and has excelled as an acupuncturist operating out of her private practice since 1998, providing her clients with acupuncture, nutritional supplements, energy balancing, acupressure, cupping, and herbology treatments in order to better address hypothyroidism and autoimmune pain issues. During this time, she flourished as an associate professor of acupuncture and a faculty member for the Kyung San University School of Oriental Medicine from 1999 to 2001. Prior to these appointments, Dr. Brown began her career as an intern with the South Baylor University Clinic between 1991 and 1997 and the China Beijing International Acupuncture Training Center in 1994.
Before embarking on her professional path, Dr. Brown pursued a formal education at the University of California Santa Barbara, earning a Bachelor of Arts. She continued her academic efforts with a Master of Science at South Baylo University in 1997. Following these accomplishments, she completed Doctor of Naturology training at the American Institute of Holistic Theology in 2003. In 2012, Dr. Brown concluded her studies at the Esoteric Interfaith Theological Seminary, graduating with a Doctor of Philosophy. She worked as a professional salesperson and a program director in the mental health administration field developing several free-standing mental health facilities in the past in between and during the second degree. She contributed and took part in special lecturer training and contributed as a lecturer in 1998.
A former competitive winning triathlete, Dr. Brown obtained additional certification at the National Acupuncture Detoxification Association in 1998. She further conducted advanced acupuncture orthopedics training at the Wang Jing Hospital of Beijing College of Acupuncture and Orthopedics that same year. Previously, she has contributed to the China Beijing International Acupuncture Training Center as a special lecturer for acupuncturists in 1994. Beyond her primary responsibilities within the field, Dr. Brown found success with fundraising efforts to help put literature in hospitals.
Moreover, Dr. Brown remains affiliated with various organizations in relation to her areas of expertise. She was formerly active as an executive board officer with the California Association of Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine, Business Network International, the Holistic Chamber of Commerce and the National Association of Professional Women. Likewise, Dr. Brown was a member of the National Association of Acupuncture and Global Women.
In light of her exceptional undertakings, Dr. Brown has accrued several accolades throughout her impressive career. Notably, she has been presented with Top Doctor Awards for Worldwide Leaders in Healthcare in the International Association of Healthcare Professionals in 2018 and 2019 and is an honored member of Continental Who's Who. Dr. Brown attributes her success to the power of prayer and meditation, believing anything is possible. She is the author of "Writing on my Pillow," a memoir soon to be published.
Inspired to seek her unique career path after a traffic accident which left her in physical pain, Dr. Brown found relief in oriental medicine. She is further motivated by her desire to provide the next generations with the hope and inspiration to become leaders and discover what is most important in life. In her spare time, she dedicates her attention to her wonderful family, which includes one son, three stepdaughters and her husband of 25 years. Looking toward the future, Dr. Brown hopes to continue enjoying life with her loving friends and family.
