Throughout the length of his various vocations, Mr. Richardson lived and has worked throughout the Anglosphere, particularly in the United States, England, and Canada. He has also been responsible for subsidiary companies in Germany, Holland, Ireland and various Caribbean countries.
Mr. Richardson's portfolio has included various upper level management positions. He began his career as an actuarial student with Empire Life before beginning a term as its head of systems development. Next, he served as head of administration, corporate secretary and head of sales for Maritime Life. This was followed by CEO appointments such as President of Maritime Life, Canada, Managing Director of Abbey Life, UK, Group General Manager of Hartford Europe, President of Hartford Worldwide life operations in the U.S., and President of Crown Life, Canada. A highlight of his career was persuading U.S. industry and state regulators to support regulation change to permit variable life products; state legislatures made the changes, and Variable Life became a major U.S. insurance product and made a long term impact on the whole U.S. industry.
Attending Queen's University in Kingston, ON, he attained a BA in Mathematics and Physics. He gained further accolades as an elected fellow of the Society of actuaries FSA, fellow of the Canadian Institute of actuaries FCIA, and chartered life underwriter CLU. An Industry leader Mr. Richardson served on the Boards of the American Health association, the Canadian Life and Health Association, Compensation Corporation, and Linked Insurance Committees in UK. A community leader, Mr. Richardson served on the Boards of Hartford United Way, and Connecticut Opera. He chaired the capital fund drive for the Hartford hospital. When resident in Canada, he served as Vice Chairman of the NS Planning Commission, member Rhodes Scholar Selection Committee, Chairman Halifax Grammar School. A celebrated Marquis listee, Mr. Richardson has been showcased in over 50 editions of Who's Who in America, Who's Who in Finance and Business, Who's Who in Industry, Who's Who in the South and Southwest, and Who's Who in the World.
