Now retired after more than 40 years in nursing, Ms. Frost garnered a laudable reputation with Saint Joseph Health Center in Providence, and subsequently with Roger William Medical Center in Providence as a cardiac, coronary care unit, and intensive care unit staff nurse, critical care nurse and nursing administrator. She has contributed numerous articles to peer reviewed journals in her area of expertise, often writing on topics relating to the readability of educational materials for patient care. She also played an instrumental role in developing computer medical records with medical technicians and teaching staff nurses in computer charting while employed at Saint Joseph Health Center. Concluding her career in 2013, Ms. Frost not only enjoyed working with her many colleagues and fellow physicians, but also the patients to whom she administered treatment.
Ms. Frost initially entered her profession due to the influence of her older sister, who was an operating room nurse in her own right. She was also greatly inspired to work in a field that would be both rewarding and challenging. In 1971, she received a diploma from the Cape Cod Hospital School of Practical Nursing, and later attained an Associate of Arts in nursing at the Community College of Rhode Island in 1984. Ms. Frost is certified in advanced cardiac life support and in intra-aortic balloon pump operation.
Through her professional community, Ms. Frost was an active member of the American Association of Critical Care Nurses, the Ocean State American Association of Critical Care Nurses and the American Heart Association until retirement. In her local community, she remains a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution and the Mayflower Society. A celebrated Marquis listee, Ms. Frost has been included in several editions of Who's Who, including Who's Who in America, Who's Who in American Nursing and Who's Who in Medicine and Healthcare.
