Ms. Greene is renowned as a medical-surgical nurse with more than 35 years of service to her patients. She initially pursued an education at Michigan State University, earning a Bachelor of Arts in 1975. She subsequently obtained a nursing diploma from the Henry Ford Hospital School of Nursing in 1986. Ms. Greene is a licensed registered nurse in the state of Michigan and holds additional certification credentials from ANCC in medical-surgical nursing and vascular surgery nursing.
Prior to beginning her career in nursing, Ms. Greene worked as a Patient Ombudsman at the Children's Hospital of Michigan, Detroit.
Dedicating most of her nursing career to the Henry Ford Health System in Detroit, Ms. Greene has found success as an inpatient unit nurse, caring mostly for surgical patients, operating room nurse, home health care nurse, admissions/bed management/transfer team coordinator and ambulatory nurse in vascular surgery clinic and orthopaedic surgery clinic.
Ms. Greene has acted in the capacity of unit shift charge nurse, preceptor to students, new nurses, medical and nursing assistants and a nurse leader.
Ms. Greene has been active in community health projects by donating her time to local health fairs. She is the recipient of the 2018 Henry Ford Health System "Power of One Award", which recognizes individuals who consistently exceed customer expectations and is a role model and inspiration to patients, customers and other team members. She is a member of the National Association of Orthopaedic Nurses, the Society for Vascular Nurses and the Academy of Medical-Surgical Nurses.
Aside from Henry Ford Health System, Ms. Greene has performed assessments for insurance companies on patients applying for long term care insurance. She has also been a telephone triage nurse for a major insurance company.
