Dr. Roger Louis Ludin taught more than 50 different courses across five departments.

Having earned the distinguished title of a professor emeritus of mechanical engineering, Dr. Ludin garnered a laudable reputation over more than four decades of inimitable expertise in his profession. Aligned with Burlington County College between 1970 and 1985, he was subsequently hired to teach at California Polytechnic State University, with which he maintained involvement from 1984 until 2010. Throughout the course of his tenure, Dr. Ludin taught more than 50 different courses across five departments. He also published several books and textbooks, including "Laboratory Manuals for Introductory Physics," "Computer Assisted Instruction for General Physics," "Annotating Engineering Drawings Textbook," "Manual for Intermediate Solid Modeling" and "Manual for Introductory Solid Modeling."
An avid civic advocate for his local community, Dr. Ludin served on the board of education of Medford Lakes, New Jersey, from 1976 to 1984, where he presided over the board's operations for six years. Likewise, he excelled on the board of directors of the Medford Lakes Athletics Association and was a soccer coach for Morro Bay High School in Morro Bay. Furthermore, Dr. Ludin volunteered his efforts as a photographer for the Morro Bay Harbor Festival for numerous years and was a member of the San Luis Obispo Master Chorale.
Prior to embarking upon his professional journey, Dr. Ludin pursued a formal education at Brown University, from which he attained a Bachelor of Science in physics in 1966. He subsequently attended the Worcester Polytechnic Institute, where he earned a Master of Science in 1968 and a Doctor of Philosophy in physics in 1969. Dr. Ludin undertook a postdoctoral fellowship at the institution from 1969 until 1970, upon which he concluded his academic efforts.
To remain aware of developments affecting his vocation, Dr. Ludin maintains his affiliation as a member of the American Association of Physics Teachers. He formerly served as the secretary and treasurer of the New Jersey section, editor of the southern California section and as the vice president and president. Dr. Ludin is also a member of the American Physical Society, the American Association for the Advancement of Science, the American Association of Mechanical Engineers and Sigma Xi.
Earning acclaim for his outstanding achievements in academia, Dr. Ludin was recognized as a Teacher of the Year by Burlington County College in 1982 and 1983. He was also named as an Outstanding Contributor to Physics Education by the American Association of Physics Teachers in 1984 and as the Most Supportive Professor by California Polytechnic State University in 1992. A celebrated Marquis listee, Dr. Ludin has been showcased in several editions of Who's Who in the West, Who's Who in the World and Who's Who of Emerging Leaders in America.
