Prior to this role, he served as an emeritus professor in the department of materials science and engineering at Kyushu University in Fukuoka, Japan, where he taught various courses between 1983 and 2002. Dr. Yasunori began his career at his alma mater, the University of Tokyo, as a research associate beginning in 1966 for nearly a decade. He studied in Belgium getting scholarship from Belgian Government, at the Study Center for Nuclear Energy, for 1968 to 1971.
An expert in surface science and thin film engineering, Dr. Yasunori pursued his formal studies in the department of applied physics at the University of Tokyo, from which he graduated with a Doctor of Philosophy in engineering in 1962. Completing his schooling just after World War II, he landed his first professional position shortly thereafter because at that time, Japan was promoting many scientists to engineers. Throughout his illustrious career, Dr. Yasunori has conducted extensive research on surface coating against the corrosion of steels and is renowned for creating the diffusion in steel and iron.
In light of his notable work in the field, Dr. Yasunori has been inducted into various organizations within his areas of expertise. He has been notably recognized as an honorable member of the Japan Society of Corrosion Engineering and as a life member of the Japan Institute of Metals. Likewise, Dr. Yasunori is a celebrated Marquis listee, having been featured in the sixth and eighth editions of Who's Who in Science and Engineering.
