Dr. Thomas J. Rosandich has garnered a laudable reputation as the president and chief executive officer of his alma mater, the U.S. Sports Academy (USSA).

Dr. Rosandich has garnered a laudable reputation as the president and chief executive officer of his alma mater, the U.S. Sports Academy (USSA) in Daphne, Alabama. Securing his position in 2015, he likewise serves on the board of trustees and is the attorney-in-fact of the institution. Having affiliated with the USSA since 1976, Dr. Rosandich has served in a variety of capacities, beginning as a logistics and purchasing coordinator in Mobile, Alabama, and as the vice president of development in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. Relocating to Daphne, he was subsequently appointed as the dean of administration and finance, after which he advanced through the positions of the vice president for development, the chief operating officer and vice president of academic affairs between 1999 and 2015.
Known as America's Sports University, the USSA is the only institution exclusively devoted to the study of sports. Established by his father, Dr. Rosandich learned at a young age the important role that sports can play in lives of students. He noted especially that those who engage in sports typically perform better in life, being more likely to acquire good jobs and have a tendency to cooperate better in the workplace. Naturally, Dr. Rosandich came of age deeply involved in sports, an avocation which persisted well into his adulthood. At the age of 15, he ranked third in the world for marathon running, and eventually earned a 3rd degree black belt in Tae Kwon Do.
Taking a brief hiatus from the Academy between 1984 and 1987, Dr. Rosandich worked as an equipment specialist for the American Institute of Sports Design in Mobile, as the director of marketing for Sports International in Mobile and as an advisor for the General Organization for Youth and Sports in the Kingdom of Bahrain. Taking a second hiatus from 1988 until 1994, Dr. Rosandich provided his expertise to the Saudi America Company for Sports Training in Riyadh, where he served in the capacity of the general manager, during which he oversaw 500 employees and sat on the board of directors. He also notably served on the board of directors of U.S.S.A. International in Riyadh.
Noted as an expert in the economic sector on sports management in various countries, Dr. Rosandich provides his exemplary services as a consultant in his field. He has contributed dozens of articles to professional journals, including The Sport Journal and the Journal of the International Council for Health, Physical Education and Recreation, as well as to a textbook on sport facility design. Moreover, Dr. Rosandich has served on the editorial board of Collegiate Press since 2000.
An alumnus of Columbia Pacific University, Dr. Rosandich received a Bachelor of Arts in business administration in 1988. He then attended the U.S.S.A. where he acquired both a master's degree in sports management in 1989 and a Doctor of Education in sports management in 1999. Prior to entering college, Dr. Rosandich served his country in the U.S. Army from 1972 to 1976, spending his first two years as a light infantryman paratrooper in the 101st Airborne Division. He subsequently contributed for an additional two years as a race relations and equal opportunity instructor and counselor in Germany.
Aligned with several professional organizations, Dr. Rosandich is active as a member of the American Sport Art Museum and Archives, the United States Distance Learning Association, the Commission for Culture, Education and Youth and the Fédération Internationale Cinéma Télévision Sportifs. He is a life member of the Sport Management and Administration, the International Council for Health, Physical Education, Recreation, Sport and Dance and the U.S.S.A. Alumni Association. As a military veteran, Dr. Rosandich is also active with the American Legion.
Dr. Rosandich received an Outstanding Alumnus of the Year Award in 1998 and a Distinguished Service Award in 2015 from the U.S.S.A. A celebrated Marquis listee, he has been cited in the 25th edition of Who's Who in the South and Southwest and the 11th and 12th editions of Who's Who in the World. In 2019, he was fortunate to attend the Asian Games as a guest special observer in the Philippines. In previous years, while working abroad as the advisor for the General Organization for Youth and Sports in Bahrain, he worked closely with the country's Crown Prince. Dr. Rosandich has been gratified to be afforded the opportunity to meet several other kings, prime ministers and presidents throughout the world.
