He formerly maintained involvement as a credit analyst at Northfield Bank and Amboy Bank, for which he was responsible for commercial and business affairs, multi-family real estate lending, underwriting, the review and analysis of new and existing loan accounts, financial and credit analysis of new loan proposals and a host of other tasks. Among Mr. Darr's significant roles, he served as the assistant vice president and senior underwriter for Small Business Administration lending for Shore Community Bank and New Millennium Bank. He has been in the industry since 1978.
A dedicated civic advocate since the early 1980s, Mr. Darr contributed for more than a decade as a member of the Lewis Shearer Chorale and Garden State Chorale between 1982 and 1994. He was prolifically active with the Cinnaminson Baptist Church in Cinnaminson, where he served as a treasurer and deacon, and later with the Princeton Presbyterian Church in Princeton, as a deacon. Additionally, Mr. Darr was active as the chairman-treasurer for the Mercer County chapter of the Child Evangelism Fellowship of New Jersey.
Mr. Darr has also volunteered his time and expertise to various local professional organizations, notably the Rider University Alumni Association as a current member of the board of directors and former treasurer. He has earned distinction as a volunteer participant with numerous local events as well, including with the Stephen Siller Tunnel to Towers Foundation in Staten Island, New York, as a member of the planning committee for the Tour de Cure through the American Diabetes Association in Princeton and as a member of the national volunteer program through Word of Life Fellowship since 2010. Additionally, Mr. Darr is a member, former camp president and secretary of Gideons International, an association of Christian business and professional men and their spouses, at its Mercer West Camp location.
Prior to embarking upon his professional journey, Mr. Darr pursued a formal education at Rider University. He received a Bachelor of Science in commerce in 1978 and a Master of Business Administration in finance, accounting and management in 1991. Eminently qualified in his field, Mr. Darr likewise holds management certificates in management studies in Total Quality Management and Zenger-Miller Front-Line Leadership through Mercer County Community College. Moreover, he is a certified notary public in the state of New Jersey.
To support his career, Mr. Darr has been aligned as a member of the Risk Management Association. In 1974, he received a School Award from the American Legion Post in Medford, New Jersey.
