In high school, Mr. Zerangue was inspired by a friend's father who worked in local electronics. Subsequently inspired to pursue electrical engineering, he eventually decided to shift his focus toward industrial technology. Obtaining a Bachelor of Science in industrial technology, electricity and electronics from the University of Southwestern Louisiana, he also became certified in electrical theory and wiring. Mr. Zerangue further flourished with the Lafayette Utilities System, with which he currently serves as electric distribution engineering coordinator.
In his current position, Mr. Zerangue provides commercial electrical services to businesses in the area and remains responsible for the acquisition of commercial and residential customer services incorporated into the Lafayette corporate area. In addition, he assists with damage assessment and infrastructure restoration in the aftermath of severe storms as well as with mapping and documenting facilities within the Lafayette Utilities System service area. As a leader, he has been responsible for developing several large commercial complexes and shopping centers, which house stores such as Costco Wholesale. For his contributions to his company and exceptional safety practices, Mr. Zerangue has received several certificates from Lafayette Utilities System.
Attributing his success throughout his career to a true passion for his work, Mr. Zerangue maintains his affiliation with the Boy Scouts of America, Knights of Columbus, the Saint Bernard Parish and the Saint Francis Food Pantry. He has been additionally active as a member of the Acadiana Electrical Association. Looking toward the future, Mr. Zerangue hopes to enjoy his well-deserved retirement in the coming years so that he can watch his grandchildren grow and become successful in their own right.
